I was told last night that I can add performance artist to my resume. Last night, we attended a great gallery opening at BK Smith on the campus of Lake Erie College. I thought it was a great mix of students, residents, and visitors who came in from Cleveland. One of the great things about openings at the BK Smith gallery, is the have musicians and dancers from the school. Last night, a group was doing an improvisational piece. A word of advice: always watch the performers. I was carrying on a conversation, with my back turned to the performers, and before I knew it, I was part of the improvisation. One of the dancers, threw a coat over my head. So I'm standing there, not moving, not knowing what's happening. After a minute or two, I feel someone doing the itsy-bitsy spider thing up my shoulder. Finally, the coat comes off. I smiled, and slowly stepped away from the dancer. A couple of people commented how great it was. The woman who was dancing actually said I was great and that my exit was very smooth. Even so, I think I'll leave future performance to more talented performers...
