In case you didn't know, there's a battle waging. On the larger front, Linux is challenging Windows as the dominant server operating system. Closer to home, linux and windows are duking it out on my hard drive. That's right. Linux is fighting an uphill battle to establish a presence on my computer. You see, XP has an insideous way of using up whole volumes so that linux installers have no place to go. I think it's intentional. Why else would the boot info be written at the opposite end of the HD? But, there is an ally. PerfectDisk [linked in the title] is a nice little defrag program that relocates those partition hogs back with their counterparts on the other end of the volume, hopefully enabling our friends qtparted or ntfs resize to do their work.
