A lot of faith is being put into this nebulous organization NEOpreneur Inc. Business and technology leaders say NEOpreneur will do what other alphabet soup organizations � Neosa, EDI and Camp � have failed to do: produce new companies at a pace to offset the number of companies leaving town or getting gobbled up by their competitors. I remain skeptical.

The thing that I remain skeptical about is NEOpreneur seems like another business-as-usual, backroom meeting organization. Yeah, they throw big parties. But those of us who came to the party wondered what all those people were doing meeting before the party. Obviously, we weren't invited. Makes me feel like I used my money to fund a good time. Then there's the whole presentation aspect of the events. There's talkers and there's doers. I don't think entrepreneurs want to sit around listening to academics talk. I could be wrong. Anyway, there's plenty of discussion going on about this over on CrainTech's message board. Please click the title of the post, read the article, and add your two cents there. Responding to Chris Thompson's query about what they should focus on. First, part of NEOSA needs to continue to focus on creating IT jobs in the area. I've had the privledge of speak with smart, motivated kids at John Carroll who are looking to help out local tech companies. I wish I could offer them hope. All I can give them are strategies. Second, what ever happened to the Angel Fund? Where's Harry? Everyone, not just the Good Old Boys Club, needs to work on increasing the amount of startup and operating capital available in this area. Dammit!
