It Ain't Free

Steve Goldberg talks about the WiFi in Playhouse Square. They (Playhouse Square) are calling it free. If you go to the registration form (which doesn't work yet), they ask for an email address. I don't know if this is a required field or not, but my guess is they're using WiFi to collect email addresses to send out their marketing info. Not a bad strategy. My question is, where's their privacy policy? I looked on the entire site and don't see one anywhere. Not that I mind. I get tons of spam a day. I use the delete key. Actually, I wash my mail. Back to the point, which is, don't tell me WiFi is free. There's a cost. The cost of using Playhouse Square's FreeLink is getting emails from them. Or if the actually create a revenue stream from your email address, the cost is getting email from whoever they sell it to. Is it worth it?
