Friday, I immersed myself in the city, spending the entire day downtown, in Tremont and Ohio City. I had coffee with
Jack and Frank Mills at
Lucky's Cafe. Then, I met my wife at the Leolai Bakery. Their flan is delicious. Skip the cafe con leche. Then, it was over to Market 25, where we met Thomas and April Baer of
WCPN. Next, it was off for a tour of Moda. Wow! The tech that's powering that facility is
unrivalled in the Midwest. After that, I had a minute to catch my breath, so I stopped at Kan Zaman for some Turkish Coffee. Delicious stuff! Very sweet and spiced with cardamon. I passed on the Turkish tobacco in a hooka, maybe next time. I met Jack and we went over to the ARTcade for the closing of
Dott and Debra's show. We also attended the Four Corners opening for
Alicia Ross' show. The owner of Four Corners, Carolyn Quigley, put together a wonderful show and I'm expecting big things from her in the future.
I'm not even close to being finish yet. After that, we jammed over to 2527 to meet Thomas and have a
Cool Cleveland editorial meeting. But, we left the meeting before it was over, because it was a Tremont Artwalk night. I traded cigars with Ted, who's photography is hanging in the Doubting Thomas gallery. Just so I don't bore you with any other details, we ended up back at 2527 to catch a bit of
Cats on Holiday. Suffice it to say, I spent the day yesterday recuperating.
Don't
ever let me hear you say "There isn't anything to do in Cleveland"!
