More great people in our midst:

Poet Laureate Billy Collins chose George Bilgere for the 2002 Witter Bynner Fellowship. Billy Collins has also has chosen George's new book, The Good Kiss, as the winner of the University of Akron Poetry Prize, for which Collins was the judge. Bilgere lives in Cleveland, Ohio, and teaches at John Carroll University.

Jack was saying last night that he won't sleep (but he does sleep well at night) until Northeast Ohio is know for all the intellectual people in the area. I'd say if we look around, point all the ones that we know of out to each other, we'll be overwelmed at how many there are! I think it also explains why Billy Collins also visited John Carroll recently. It just goes to show that like attracts like!
