Micki Maynard · Your Story: Is Detroit Cool Again?
June 20th, 2011
For years, Detroit’s image has been in tatters. And the city still faces plenty of major problems. But lately, there’s a growing sense that Detroit’s image is bouncing back.
Before you take our poll tell us what makes Detroit cool, or uncool.
Why now? Do people like to root for the underdog? Has the auto industry comeback helped the city’s image? Was the Chrysler Super Bowl commercial a turning point? How about the fascination with urban farms and ruin porn? Or, in your view, did Detroit never stop being cool?

The Fox Theater
But you might not agree that a city so troubled can be cool. Whatever you think, we’d like you to tell us what you think of Detroit. We want to hear from Detroiters, ex-Detroiters, suburbanites, people who’ve visited and people who’ve never set foot in the city.
After you vote, click here to answer questions, and add your views about the Motor City.
