Just got back from the Space Coast this week, where we are continuing to build out a clean energy cluster.

This week, in a couple of hours, we defined three major market opportunities that link and leverage assets within the cluster:
  • Applications of superconductivity and cryogenics in offshore wind energy systems;
  • Flexible production systems for conversion of biomass (such as agricultural waste products, such as orange peels — they have a lot of them) to liquid fuels; and
  • Advanced composites that integrate solar components into “hurricane hardened” roofing systems
Agile strategy disciplines  work well to align and focus resources in a cluster. We can identify strategic opportunities quickly and move them into action. Space Florida is supporting this work with a grant from the Economic Development Administration.

Here’s an overview of how the cluster has evolved and a brochure that explains some background.
