Ed Morrison · National heritage designation for the Western Reserve

U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Niles, has been pushing since 2004 to get 14 counties designated as a new national heritage area: Summit, Portage, Medina, Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain, Geauga, Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning, Huron, Erie, Ottawa and Ashland.
Warms my heart. As a young legislative assistant in U.S. Rep. Vanik’s office, I worked on the establishment of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, led by Rep. Seiberling.
