Ed Morrison · More on Cleveland’s LED lighting “strategy”
December 2nd, 2010
From WKYC via Brian Cummins.
Looks like Sunpu took a hike.
Gary Norton, the East Cleveland mayor, seems to get the opportunity. Why the City of Cleveland and CPP wasted six+ months with Sunpu is beyond incompetence. Maybe now the GCP or Nortech will step up and lead.
Twenty-two companies expressed interest but just two companies submitted bids for a 10-year deal to supply all the city’s LED lighting needs.
East Cleveland’s GE Lighting and ATC Lighting, of Andover, Ohio, were the only bidders.
Sunpu Opto, a Chinese company that seemed the frontrunner during the original bidding process, did not try for the contract.
