Is NEO forming a food policy council?
Councils are springing up across North America to “connect the dots” between the growing number of neighborhood food initiatives and communities forging policies for just, healthy food systems.
You can download the report on food policy councils here.
Here’s an example of a regional food system emerging in SW Iowa: Southwest Iowa Food and Farm Initiative

Cuyahoga County has a food policy coalition that has been active for a few years now: http://cccfoodpolicy.org/ The CCCFPC consists of more than 40 collaborators and is also helping start-up food policy coalitions across the state.
Also, they attend meetings for a state-wide food policy coalition.

Thanks! One problem. The web site needs some updating.
The last event shown is in 2008. None of the files I downloaded would open (they are corrupted.) That makes the web site for a person like me — interested in emergence of a local foods system in NEO — useless.
