Last week, the Administration announced the award of $2.3 billion in Recovery Act Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credits for clean energy manufacturing projects across the United States.

The list includes two NEO companies. GE Lighting in East Cleveland and Cardinal Fastener & Specialty Co in Bedford each received tax credits for energy manufacturing.

Here’s what GE Lighting will be doing:

GE will re-equip a lamp plant to manufacture energy conserving T8 and T5 linear fluorescent lamps. These lamps will primarily replace less efficient T12 linear fluorescent lamps and HID lamps.

Here’s what Cardinal Fastener & Specialty Co will be doing:

Cardinal Fastener & Specialty will manufacture hot forged, critical fasteners used in wind turbines – transportation bolts, tower bolts, nacelle bolts, and blade studs
