The area around West Lake is one of the famous tea growing regions of the world. Dragon Well Tea is highly prized among tea drinkers and with good reason.

Tea farmers select and dry the tea carefully, In the spring, they pick only the top three leaves on the branch of a tea bush. Then, they carefully dry these leaves by hand.

According to an ancient Chinese legend, a beneficent dragon lives in local wells. During a severe drought, the legend teaches, a local Taoist monk beseeched the lucky dragon for help. When the monk prayed to the lucky dragon, the dragon created the rain that saved the crops.
