A community meeting to share information with the public pertaining to this year’s City Council redistricting with a focus on the potential impacts on the near westside.

Neighborhood Development, Planning and Service Districts
In addition to the meeting announcement above, I have called on my colleagues, as well as Mayor Jackson’s Administration, to pursue deliberations that would lead the City of Cleveland to adopt the 2008 Charter Review Commission’s policy recommendation to create Neighborhood Development, Planning and Service Districts.

Ah, those were the days, when living near the zoo meant you were in “Ward fifteen and a half.”
I still think Council reduction was a mistake. We should have gone back to 33 members or maybe more. Council Chambers can seat at least 400 people–how about proportional representation for anyone who has the support of a thousand voters?
The 21-member Council has been plauged by bossism for decades. Shrinking it will only increase the power of the bosses.
