Brian Cummins · Cleveland Ward 14 Candidates – Contrast in Experience
September 28th, 2009

Comparing Candidates
The new Ward 14 Cleveland City Council election is one of the most watched races in Cleveland this year. In today’s Plain Dealer article (*see below) writer Henry Gomez covers the background of my opponent Rick Nagin.
Now that the primary is over my campaign is focusing on the general election. Like the Plain Dealer article, my campaign has also begun to provide information that highlights the differences in the candidate’s professional and life experiences.
Elections should not be popularity contests, but rather a decision made by voters based on who is the most qualified candidate. To do that, voters must know both the accomplishments and past experiences of those candidates. My campaign makes no value judgments about Mr. Nagin and believes that voters deserve to know both candidates.
My campaign will continue to highlight my direct experience in representing Clevelanders, in explaining my demonstrated skills and accomplishments in the areas most important to voters:
- For safer neighborhoods.
- For better neighborhoods and housing.
- For jobs and economic development.
- For improved city infrastructure.
