Ed Morrison · Building networks for community renewal
August 22nd, 2009
Over on one of my other blogs, edmorrison.com, I share some of the insights that we are developing as we work with a new network-based approach to community revitalization. Pioneered by Community Renewal International, this model focuses on strengthening the networks within a neighborhood.
The strategy includes a variety of different dimensions: brainpower development, physical development, and economic development to name a few.
To describe this new approach, old organization charts with boxes and committees will not do. My colleague, Kim Mitchell has developed some new thinking on how to does arrive the dynamic nature of the networks emerging around Community Renewal. Kim has worked closely with my brother Hunter are variety of different planning issues.
You can read more about this approach here.
