Two events happening tomorrow.
From Richard Herman:
There are two exciting events happening tomorrow, Thursday, in Cleveland:
Event 1: City Club, 5/21, at noon: Anne O’Callaghan, Founder of Welcoming Center in Philadelphia.
Please see Robert Smith’s front-page, Pulitzer-worthy article “Philadelphia Immigrants Help Drive Revival,” from today’s Plain Dealer on the economic boost that New Americans and International Visitors have brought to Philadelphia, in large part due to initiatives such as the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians, founded by Ms. Ann O’Callaghan.
Please join me and many others as we welcome Ms. O’Callaghan at the City Club of Cleveland, tomorrow, Thursday, May 21st, at Noon.
Cuyahoga County Commissioner Peter Lawson Jones will lead a community dialogue immediately following Ms. Callaghan’s presentation.
Reservations can be made by calling the City Club at 216-621-0082. $15 for members, $25 for non-members. Register on-line.

Please consider attending this event and offering your feedback on whether you believe an International Welcome Center should be developed in Northeast Ohio, and if so, what should it do?
Many consider an International Welcome Center to be an indispensable economic development tool for any region that seeks to gain a competitive advantage in the New Economy and in neighborhood revitalization.
Borrowing the best ideas from around the country, such as those in Philadelphia, an International Welcome Center in Northeast Ohio might provide the following:
Welcoming, integrating, and connecting services to New Americans, international investors, foreign-born professionals and researchers, international students, and other new arrivals to Northeast Ohio; Education of our major institutions and community on the job creating and economic benefits that flow to regions which welcome global talent, entrepreneurship, and capital; Promotion of “Shared Prosperity” by developing win/win partnerships between Northeast Ohioans and those born abroad;
