Local TV I teams have become, for the most part, the functional "news" equivalent of food-fight shows such as Jerry Springer's. I don't know how much stock I'd put in their stories. In their classic manner, here they're grasping at a fairly microscopic gotcha piece of a sprawling story that they should be trying to come to terms with, but won't. I would hope you don't encourage them in their structural irresponsibility by calling too much attention to this kind of stuff. Ed, I encourage you to make some qualitative distinctions here.
