		<description>well im not sure how to put a positive spin on the fact that more money for a special unit should be added before cops ride bikes! I think more money needs to go in that direction for more cops, but bikes should be saving money and helping get policemen and policewomen out into the neighborhoods up close and personal. 

Lois I hope you are correct and we do. In the meantime if we add our two cents maybe it helps them know we want it to happen :-)</description>

		<description>George, please update the post to be more positive because things have moved forward considerably. Much of the post is out of context and out-of-date.  Also, I haven&#039;t talked directly to anyone from the union who is against bicycles...I have only talked to officers who are in favor of them, so I am hearing their side of the issue and possibly not getting the whole story.

CPD is currently training officers and either has them on bicycles right now or will very soon.  Hopefully we will see more and more officers on bicycles...it is good for their health, the dynamic between officers and citizens is improved, it saves the City money, it leads to a greener and cleaner Cleveland plus patrolling around schools and similar areas is better.</description>
