I am interested to see when the development wave heads this way, I’m still getting a lay of the land here in Huntsburg, but from initial scouting getting hands on the Land Use Plan helped here, this area also looks poised to explode developmentally. Wind farms on Erie huh? Giving what our neighbors upstairs are crying about minimum amounts the oil companies are charging for and the price of heating oil, I envision solar farms and windmills here in the not too distant future.

The Carbon Free initiative is one of those projects that get’s a few askance look’s, simply because it was given it’s impetus by a politician. Having lived in the Green Sea of the Emerald City (Seattle and Tacoma) for quite some time, it has really gotten some leg’s under it because of Mayor Nichols of Seattle. He sounded the horn for and has drawn together, the first national Mayor’s coalition on the subject of environmental concern and action, and now is going worldwide with it. His reason’s are simple: he loves his City, and the State it resides in. Now, at the personal level, here are some thing’s that i started doing several years ago. They are so small, yet so huge. Going and getting groceries or goods from the store, if I only get enough items that I can comfortably carry to the register, then I will comfortably carry them to the car. Just give me the receipt to show at the door lest I look like a shoplifter, lol. But really, believe it or not, this really works. I’ve watched people right behind me in line, by seeing the example that I showed, they too adopted the same response. That kind of consideration is contagious.

Oops, as it is, I don’t use paper or plastic if I can carry it comfortably….
