Roxanne is a vocalist for JJ Magazine and she rocks, so go see them, she said they will probably be on towards the end.

Both Mr. Gnome and JJ Magazine were excellent. I’ve been a fan of Mr. Gnome for a while and have seen them several times before (you’re right, Peter; they are almost impossible to categorize although some jerk behind me inexplicably kept yelling “White Stripes” maybe because there were only two people on stage?), but JJ Magazine was new to me. I love their very retro early New Wave vibe. The tunes were so catchy and Roxanne is a firecracker! She and Nicole are REAL “women who rock.”
Devil Moto and the Suede Brothers also have very retro sounds but more classic early 1970s bluesy hard rock. I’m sort of comme si, comme ca about Devil Moto but I love the Suede Brothers.
I didn’t get to hear him but I met him and Adam Heart was decked out in perfect 1974 David Bowie attire with the rolled-up jeans and striped sox, the whole deal. Very cute! Since that’s the sound he’s drawing on and I love that era, I look forward to hearing him another time.
